Macha Theatre Works stands in solidarity with the Seattle theatre community in condemning racism and violence against Black Americans and all People of Color.

We acknowledge our inherent complicity in white privilege and systemic racism within our industry.

We are outraged by the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. We denounce the reckless spread of xenophobia, scapegoating, and scaremongering in regards to COVID-19 towards our Asian-American community in Seattle and across the United States of America, which has lead to the murder of our fellow Americans.

We reject and condemn the despicable ideologies that aim to divide us.

We commit to being advocates of change and to being uncomfortable.
We will continue facilitating the necessary conversations about the inequalities and injustices of our ever-shifting world.

We believe in representation and supporting voices of color.
We will continue to build community around our mission and core values: centering innovative, complex, and diverse female voices.

We will listen.
We will try.
We will strive to be better.
Together.
